Vietnam is without doubt one of Asia's most underrated countries. Come with us and we'll show you why this place is amazing!

The name 'Vietnam' conjures up so many images, mostly of the 20 year war, but also of stunning landscapes, crazy motorbikes, incredible coffee, mountainside rice fields and golden beaches. It's fair to say that then Vietnam has something for every single type of traveller and our tour is absolute proof of that. Come with us as we whisk you from the ancient city of Hanoi, to the buzzing seaside playground of Hoi An, via the breathtaking Ha Long Bay and more. This is as much a journey of discovery as it is a journey of fun, excitement, new experiences and wonderment!

11 nights of fun-filled adventure await our intrepid explorers in a country that has risen from the ashes to become one of Asia's leading travel destinations.

TOUR ITINERARY

DAY ONE: Welcome to Vietnam and welcome to the most incredible tour of the most incredible country! If you're arriving in to Hanoi's international airport our team are waiting to meet you and transfer you to hotel number one where you'll have plenty of time to freshen up and get to meet up with your fellow travellers.

In the evening we’ll have an informal get-together over a couple of drinks - the perfect way to get to know the rest of your group and your guides!

DAY TWO: The day begins with a very easy walking tour, where we’ll take a leisurely wander through the back alleys and into the colourful markets and temples that dot this lake-littered town. Hanoi is a wonderful city, a mixture of Chinese empowerment and French design, steeped in history and is as bustling as it is exciting.

In the evening we'll get together for a genuine Vietnamese welcome meal at a popular local restaurant. You have got to try real 'Pho' and Vietnamese spring rolls, all washed down with a couple of local beers!

Meals: Breakfast, dinner

DAY THREE: Just a short coach ride from Hanoi lies the stunning outdoor enthusiasts paradise of Ha Long Bay. Set amidst emerald waters, rainforests, and limestone cliffs here we’ll dive into the water for some swimming, kayaking and adventure.

In the evening we'll enjoy a slap-up dinner as the water gently laps around us. This is one of the most picturesque locations on the planet and one that will etch itself in to your memory banks.

Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner

DAY FOUR: Today we're off to Ninh Binh to explore the UNESCO grottos. This is a trip never to be missed during a visit to Vietnam, yet not many people know about it!

But first it's coffee and breakfast as the sunrises over the stunningin backdrop of Ha Long Bay.

Meals Included: Breakfast

DAY FIVE: The sleepy town of Ninh Binh may consist of little more than locals sipping beers at cafes along the sidewalks, but the town itself is surrounded by quintessentially Vietnamese limestone scenery.

After breakfast, we’ll hop on our bikes and cycle into the tropical countryside toward Tam Coc, a river that would be all over your Instagram feed if people knew about it. There, we’ll board a row-boat, and, with the soundtrack of the river lapping against our oars, we’ll succumb to the riverside’s lush rice paddies and limestone ledges that seemingly continue forever.

We may even throw a little surprise into the mix, just whisper the words dragon mountain to our guides, and they will show you a hidden gem that has been said to be one of the tour highlights.

In the evening, with eyes exhausted from the imagery, we’ll take a night bus to Hue, where we’ll begin our first volunteering excursion.

Meals: Breakfast

DAY SIX: Arriving in Hue (pronounced: 'Hu-way'), we will first head to the hotel to freshen up from our very comfortable, air-conditioned coach trip. Hue is a beautiful little town, steeped in history, both ancient and modern and one that we know you're going to love to explore. The former seat of Imperial Vietnam can still be felt in this historic citadel, where crumbling ancient walls greet modern, Euro-chic boutiques. Hue’s charm, however, lies along the Perfume River, where we’ll board a private boat for a sail downstream to Thien Mu Pagoda, the largest such in Vietnam. This is the perfect way to relax ahead of your project work commencing tomorrow morning.

Meals Included: Breakfast

DAYS SEVEN to NINE: Day one of your project work, day one of leaving a lasting legacy in Vietnam, and day one of three being awesome! The work we will have lined up for you and your group will be both required and community-enhancing. This could include anything from building chicken farms and constructing houses to putting in water filtration systems or even preparing communities on sustainable food and development initiatives. We're extremely proud to work alongside one of Vietnam's premier NGOs here in Hue and they will have all of your project work lined up, tools ready to go, coordinators standing by and the plan laid out. This really is amazing work and will show you a side of Vietnam life that ordinary travellers would never have access too.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, dinner.

DAY TEN: Gripped with emotion, pride, and whatever the word for I-can’t-believe-we-just-helped-so-many-Vietnamese-people, we’ll bus down to Hoi An, a city famed for its Old Town and Japanese-style pagodas.

The winding roads through the mountains offer a near-endless panorama of steep, stony facades along with the occasional waterfall. If the weather’s kind, we’ll stop at Elephant Springs, a secluded waterfall where, if you couldn’t have guessed it, elephants once bathed, or we’ll visit Da Nang, a hiker’s dreamland in the Marble Mountains.

All being well, we should arrive just in time for a shower and a romantic stroll into the old town of Hoi An.

Meals Included: Breakfast

DAY 11 (MONDAY): BIKE RIDE AND BASKET BOATS

Fully rested from volunteering, today begins with a bike ride through historic Hoi An and into the quiet Vietnamese countryside.

We’ll cycle past rice paddocks and roaming buffaloes to the waters surrounding the city where our basket boat awaits. The sail around the town to an island just off the main drag.

Here, we’ll mingle with some locals and challenge them to Con Quay and a few other traditional Vietnamese games.

The day concludes with a smooth ride back into Hoi An, where the rest of the day is yours for exploring—be it bargaining at the Chinese shop houses, dining on Bahn Xeo, or, our personal recommendation, make your own Asian-style lantern.

Meals Included: Breakfast

DAY 12 (TUESDAY): FREE DAY

We’re taking off the Bamboo ball-and-chain and letting you into the wild world of Hoi An.

Packed with yellow, French colonial-era buildings, feel free to window-shop at the cutesy boutiques, lounge street-side in many of the coffee shops, book yourself a cooking class at the famous Green Mango restaurant, or trek down to An Bang Beach for some sun, some R&R, and a cocktail or two.

Just get back to the hotel in the early evening so we can get together for our final group meal, where we’ll toast to Vietnam. Mot, hi, ba, yo!

Meals Included: Breakfast, Dinner

DAY 13 (WEDNESDAY): DEPARTURE DAY

Do do we even want to address the good-bye?

The trip may have lasted thirteen days, but it’s thirteen days that last a lifetime in memory. We’ll snap one final group photo, which we’ll then keep under our pillow case to look at late at night, teary-eyed and smiling, and remember our journey together.

Beyond that, we’ll help you arrange any transport to your next stop—be it the airport, bus terminal, shipyard, dragon’s den, wherever. Safe travels.
