Travel with trunk and let us show you exactly what makes India, incredible!
Arguably the most colourful, vibrant, entertaining, mind-blowing, senses-tingling countries on the planet, India is as beautiful as it is a full on attack on the senses. She really must be explored to be believed. Go beyond the guide books and the documentaries, throw yourself in to this incredible sub-continent and discover for yourself exactly what it is that makes India the hottest place to visit.
Journey with us to four fabulous locations, all under the professional guidance of our team of local guides. Help us help India's rescued elephant population and give back to a country that has so little yet will offer you so much.
DAY ONE: Welcome to India and welcome to New Delhi. Get ready for a full-on attack on the senses as we whisk you off to your first hotel, right in the thick of it. Once you've arrived at the hotel you'll have plenty of time to freshen up and meet up with more of our team and the rest of your group to begin this incredible adventure.
DAY TWO: Our day begins with breakfast followed by a detailed orientation of the city and tour. We’ll give you more details about what to expect, what you'll experience, answer your questions and explain to you how to really make the most of India.
From there, we climb aboard a rickshaw and whizz through the narrow windy streets, past old women carrying fruits, stacked a meter high, on their heads and through the turmeric-smelling bodegas. Be sure to grab your camera for the exploration because we’ll also venture to the iconic India Gate, parliamentary building, and into Old Delhi, an ancient city within a city.
We'll be back to the hotel in the late afternoon so you'll have time to either relax until dinner or, if you still have the energy, take a walk through the winding alleyways into Delhi’s heart. Just be ready to meet up again in the evening for a fabulous group welcome dinner, where you’ll dine on a traditional northern Indian meal.
Meals: Breakfast, dinner
DAY THREE: This morning begins with some recovery coffee—or a roti from the market if you’re feeling adventurous. You’ll have the morning to explore anything you missed yesterday, which, considering the size of the city, is a lot.
By afternoon, we’ll meet for lunch and then transport you to Agra, home of the Taj Mahal.
We'll arrive there in the early-evening, enough time to chill out before heading into Agra for an encounter with the Mughal empire.
DAY FOUR: This is the day that most you will have longed for, and the rest of you will be amazed by. It's the Taj Mahal. Built in 1653 as a memorial to Shah Jahan’s third wife, the Shah’s gesture of love is celebrated by millions of tourists every year.
We’ll spend the day touring the famous monument, learning all about the history of this incredible monument and taking way too many selfies! Yes, we can definitely do best to get you that 'shot' with your finger on the top of the spire!
We'll then head towards the Agra Fort. This stunning building’s white marble represents the extravagance and wealth of a long-lost kingdom. Today, though, it’s returned to its military glory, featuring even a crocodile-infested moat.
DAYS FIVE to EIGHT: Rise and shine bright and early this morning. For the next four days, you’ll have the unique opportunity to work alongside some of India’s most endangered species: Sloth bears and elephants.
We're extremely proud to be a valued partner of India's world famous animal welfare NGO, Wildlife SOS. As a volunteer here, you’ll spend your days enriching the lives of the animals in their care. You'll have the opportunity to experience the elephant rescue center and help with the existing elephant population, including building bathing banks, preparing foods, and, of course, feeding and exercising these magnificent mammals.
Experienced animal keepers and volunteer coordinators will accompany you throughout your days here. You'll be provided with a simple safety course and all of the tools and equipment you need to be effective. The actual 'work' that you do will depend on many factors such as the number in your group, the requirements of the project, weather, available budgets and more. It's not possible to give you a detailed itinerary until closer to the time of your trip. Every day here is a tad different, but, rest assured, the two projects are incredible and do absolutely make a difference where it's needed.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner
DAY NINE: Before we tearfully depart our program there'll be plenty of time for hugs and hi-5's with the team and the elephants who we know will have had such an incredible impact on you as humans. We'll then depart for our next incredible location, Jaipur, India’s infamous 'Pink City'.
We’ll quickly shuttle you to your hotel where you’re free to explore the city by night. Many of the best shopping experiences in India can be found in Jaipur's ancient bazaars. It’s a place to buy aromatic curries or haggle your way to a sapphire.
DAY TEN: More relaxed than Delhi, Jaipur’s colorful chaos erupts in a brew of old and new. Speeding rickshaws dodge dawdling camels, and, in the middle of this mayhem, Jaipur somehow maintains a relatively relaxing charm.
Venturing into the throbbing pulse that’s sustained this city for centuries, we’ll tour the city’s most well-known sights such as Hawa Mahal, Pink Palace, and Amber Fort. This will absolutley be a highlight of your trip so make sure you've got your camera and everything's fully-charged!
DAY ELEVEN: We're off to Pushkar today, and our safari really gets going. Once we arrive in Pushkar we'll lock up our bags and take the short tuk tuk ride to see the amazing work that happens in a nearby Animal hospital.
By late afternoon we’ll jump on board a jeep and transfer you into the desert where we'll ride into the sandy desert during sunset to our home for the night, a tent-like gazebo in the middle of nothingness - the ultimate in relaxation!
Sleeping beneath the stars, we’ll wonder how on earth we ended up here, chat through what will have been a mind-blowing trip thus far, and experience what life was like in India just a century ago.
Meals: Breakfast, dinner
DAY TWELVE: Perhaps the most important pilgrimage site for devout Hindus is the Rajasthani town of Pushkar. Curling around a holy lake—said to have appeared when Brahma dropped a lotus flower—Pushkar hums and marches to the beats and chants of Hinduism. This holy town contains roughly 400 milky-blue temples and vibrant, packed markets with statues of Shiva and Parvati.
Once we've arrived in Pushkar, we’ll then meander our way through the town’s holy sites and enliven a certain spirituality within all of us, whether it pertains to Lakshmi or the far-too-delicious Dal Baati Churma.
Our day concludes on a rooftop overlooking the holy lake where we’ll enjoy our last hurrah meal and toast to a life-changing adventure in India, and a promise to return.
Meals: Breakfast, dinner
DAY THIRTEEN: After breakfast, the trek back to Delhi begins. It's a comfortable journey in an air-conditioned bus, giving you ample time to reflect, organise your ridiculous amount of photographs and prepare for yourself for having to leave this awe-inspiring country (Or stay around a while with our Goa beach bolt-on - read below)
Once back in the capital, we’ll get you settled at the hotel for your last night. There'll be time for you to venture out to grab some last-minute souvenirs and perhaps that final Mutton Korma or Paneer Tikka. Make the most if it as tomorrow, it's all over.
DAY FOURTEEN: Sadly, this morning is the end. It'll be tissues at the ready as we say a teary farewell with a group hug and a group photo. Your guides will be around all day to help with any onward transport that you require and if you're lucky enough to be joining our Goa beach bolt-on we'll have all of your instructions ready and prepared!

GOA BEACH BOLT-ON
(this is purely optional but equally as epic!)
DAY FOURTEEN (continued): So once we've tearfully waved goodbye to those unlucky few who can't spare the time to travel on with us, you are more than welcome, and invited, to spend a few more days experiencing more of India's charms at the world famous location of Goa.
We'll take care of all of the details for you, organising your flight and accommodation, and we'll even help you to Delhi airport in time for your flight! Spend the next 6 nights doing exactly as you please, at your own pace, sipping cocktails around the pool and dancing the nights away under the stars.
DAYS FIFTEEN to NINETEEN: This bolt-on is extremely easy to write about. You have 6 nights in a hotel that's only a short stroll to the beach, the shops, the bars and restaurants. If stretching your legs doesn't sound like the plan for the day, rest up around the hotels swimming pool enjoying a good book, flicking back through your thousands of photographs from your tour, enjoy a cold one and some incredibly tasty local delicacies.
We're only ever a phone call away if you ever need anything such as advice, ideas, assistance or just a friendly chat. But the staff at our hotel will take excellent care of you throughout your stay and there's nothing they haven't thought of.
Goa is a sun-worshippers paradise. But in addition to amazing beaches, in Goa you'll never struggle for activities to fill your time. From sea rafting to bike tours to India's only floating casino and over 7,000 bars(!), Goa has everything that you'd expect from a world leading beach resort.
Life in Goa is also very cheap. A good meal out at a mid-range restaurant will cost around $15, for two! A pint of local beer is just $1.40 while a bottle of mid-range wine will set you back around $7. You can easily live the high-life without breaking the bank and as a 1 mile taxi ride will cost you around $0.50¢ it's easy to get out and experience more of what Goa has to offer.
DAY TWENTY: Well today is officially the end of your time with us as your reservation will conclude but of course you're welcome to stick around for longer. We guarantee that you won't want to leave this place so why not stick around a little longer.
Your onward journey from Goa isn't included by us as so many decide to stay on for longer. If you simply must leave Goa then the team at the hotel will be only too happy to help with your arrangements.
NOTE: this extension is unguided. You will be given exact details of your arrangements plus all booking confirmations along with 24/7 contact numbers for our team who you can contact with any questions you have during your trip.
